وافقت شركة «إنفيديا» الأمريكية على الاستحواذ على منصة الذكاء الاصطناعي «Hugging Face» مقابل 12.9 مليار دولار، في صفقة تعتبر واحدة من أكبر عمليات الاستحواذ في تاريخ الشركة، وفقاً لتقرير نشرته «The Information» ونقلته وكالة «رويترز».
وذكر التقرير، نقلاً عن مصدر مطلع على الصفقة، أن الاتفاق سيمنح «إنفيديا» السيطرة على واحدة من أبرز المنصات العالمية المتخصصة في استضافة وتوزيع نماذج الذكاء الاصطناعي مفتوحة المصدر ومجموعات البيانات المستخدمة في تطوير الأنظمة والتطبيقات الذكية.
وتأتي الخطوة في وقت تسعى فيه «إنفيديا»، بقيادة رئيسها التنفيذي جنسن هوانغ، إلى توسيع حضورها في منظومة الذكاء الاصطناعي إلى ما يتجاوز صناعة وحدات معالجة الرسومات، مستفيدة من النمو المتسارع في الطلب على تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي والبنية التحتية اللازمة لتشغيلها.

The American company “NVIDIA” has agreed to acquire the AI platform “Hugging Face” for $12.9 billion, in a deal considered one of the largest acquisitions in the company’s history, according to a report published by “The Information” and quoted by Reuters.
The report mentioned, citing a source familiar with the deal, that the agreement will grant “NVIDIA” control over one of the leading global platforms specializing in hosting and distributing open-source AI models and datasets used in the development of intelligent systems and applications.
This move comes at a time when “NVIDIA,” led by its CEO Jensen Huang, is seeking to expand its presence in the AI ecosystem beyond the graphics processing unit industry, benefiting from the accelerating growth in demand for AI technologies and the infrastructure needed to operate them.
If completed, the acquisition would give “NVIDIA” a more influential position in the open-source AI model community, especially since “Hugging Face” hosts large language models, datasets, and tools relied upon by developers and researchers worldwide.
