Oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz have recovered to about two-thirds of their levels before the war between the United States and Iran, amid ongoing disruptions affecting navigation through one of the world’s most important oil export routes.
Analysts at “Goldman Sachs” explained in a note reported by Bloomberg that total crude and petroleum product exports through the strait have risen to between 15 and 16 million barrels per day.
Despite this recovery, flows remain about 7 to 8 million barrels per day lower compared to pre-war levels, representing a significant jump from the flow levels recorded in March, which did not exceed 6 million barrels per day.
Goldman Sachs noted that the increase in unreported transits, along with the transfer of shipments from one vessel to another, reflects the ability of producers and shipping companies to adapt to the repercussions of the conflict in the Middle East and maintain a significant portion of oil export flows through the strait.
