عقد وزير الاتصالات وتقنية المعلومات المهندس عبدالله السواحة اجتماعًا مع وكيل الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة للشؤون الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لي جون هوا، بحضور مندوب المملكة الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة السفير الدكتور عبدالعزيز الواصل.
وناقش الاجتماع التحول الرقمي الشامل ودوره في تسريع تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة، إلى جانب سبل تعزيز الشراكة في مجال الحكومة الرقمية، ودعم بناء القدرات الرقمية في الدول النامية، وتبادل الخبرات وأفضل الممارسات؛ ما يسهم في تطوير حكومات رقمية أكثر شمولًا وابتكارًا.
ويأتي الاجتماع امتدادًا لدور المملكة الفاعل في دعم التعاون الدولي، وتوظيف التقنيات الحديثة لتطوير الخدمات الحكومية ورفع كفاءتها، وتمكين المجتمعات من الاستفادة من فرص العصر الذكي.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah Al-Sawaha, held a meeting with the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations for Economic and Social Affairs, Liu Zhenmin, in the presence of the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasil.
The meeting discussed comprehensive digital transformation and its role in accelerating the achievement of sustainable development goals, as well as ways to enhance partnership in the field of digital government, support the building of digital capacities in developing countries, and exchange experiences and best practices; which contributes to the development of more inclusive and innovative digital governments.
This meeting comes as an extension of the Kingdom’s active role in supporting international cooperation, utilizing modern technologies to develop government services and enhance their efficiency, and enabling communities to benefit from the opportunities of the smart age.
