أعلنت وزارة الاقتصاد الألمانية أنها تنسق مع أوروبا بشأن الخطوات التالية بعد رفع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب الرسوم الجمركية على السيارات والشاحنات الأوروبية إلى 25%.
وذكر معهد «كيل- Kiel» للاقتصاد العالمي، أن رفع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب الرسوم الجمركية على السيارات والشاحنات القادمة من الاتحاد الأوروبي إلى 25% قد يكبد ألمانيا خسائر إنتاج بنحو 15 مليار يورو، ما يعادل 17.6 مليار دولار، مع احتمال ارتفاع الخسائر إلى نحو 30 مليار يورو على المدى الطويل.
ضربة قوية
وحذر المعهد من أن هذه الخطوة ستوجه ضربة قوية لنمو الاقتصاد الألماني، خصوصاً أن قطاع السيارات يمثل أحد أعمدة أكبر اقتصاد في الاتحاد الأوروبي، كما قد تمتد التداعيات إلى دول أوروبية أخرى ذات صناعات سيارات كبيرة مثل إيطاليا وسلوفاكيا والسويد.
يُذكر أن ترمب كان قد قرر رفع الرسوم الجمركية على السيارات القادمة من الاتحاد الأوروبي، مبرراً ذلك بما وصفه بعدم التزام الاتحاد بالاتفاق التجاري المبرم مع واشنطن.
The German Ministry of Economy announced that it is coordinating with Europe regarding the next steps after U.S. President Donald Trump raised tariffs on European cars and trucks to 25%.
The Kiel Institute for the World Economy stated that President Donald Trump’s increase of tariffs on cars and trucks coming from the European Union to 25% could cost Germany production losses of about 15 billion euros, equivalent to 17.6 billion dollars, with the possibility of losses rising to around 30 billion euros in the long term.
A Severe Blow
The institute warned that this step would deal a severe blow to the growth of the German economy, especially since the automotive sector is one of the pillars of the largest economy in the European Union. The repercussions may also extend to other European countries with large automotive industries, such as Italy, Slovakia, and Sweden.
It is worth noting that Trump had decided to raise tariffs on cars coming from the European Union, justifying this by what he described as the EU’s failure to comply with the trade agreement made with Washington.
