أعلنت وزارة الطاقة الأمريكية أمس (الإثنين) تراجع مخزونات النفط الخام في الاحتياطي الإستراتيجي للولايات المتحدة بنحو 3.1 مليون برميل خلال الأسبوع الماضي، لتصل إلى 286.6 مليون برميل، مسجلة أدنى مستوى لها منذ نوفمبر 1982.
وذكرت وكالة «رويترز» أن الانخفاض يأتي ضمن تحرك أمريكي يتضمن سحب 172 مليون برميل من المخزونات.
يأتي ذلك في وقت تهدد موجة تصعيد جديدة بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران بإعادة التوتر إلى مضيق هرمز، عقب تبادل واشنطن وطهران الضربات للمرة الأولى منذ أسابيع، في تطور يضع حركة الملاحة وإمدادات الطاقة أمام مخاطر متجددة، بالتزامن مع استمرار الضغوط الاقتصادية الأمريكية على إيران.
The U.S. Department of Energy announced yesterday (Monday) a decrease in crude oil stocks in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve by about 3.1 million barrels during the past week, bringing the total to 286.6 million barrels, marking the lowest level since November 1982.
Reuters reported that the decline is part of a U.S. move that includes withdrawing 172 million barrels from the reserves.
This comes at a time when a new escalation between the United States and Iran threatens to rekindle tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, following an exchange of strikes between Washington and Tehran for the first time in weeks, a development that puts shipping and energy supplies at renewed risk, coinciding with the ongoing U.S. economic pressures on Iran.
