A former member of the Shura Council, educator Suleiman bin Awad Al-Zaydi, attended the book signing ceremony for “Al-Masfalah… History and Heritage,” authored by Captain Osama Al-Azaldin, with the participation of a group of elite individuals from Mecca and those interested in history, culture, and media, alongside several people dedicated to documenting Meccan heritage and preserving its civilizational legacy.
The book documents the history of an ancient neighborhood in Mecca, inspired by the story of Al-Masfalah, one of the oldest and most famous neighborhoods in the holy capital. It outlines its social, architectural, and human features, as well as the transformations it has undergone over the decades that have contributed to shaping the identity of the place and the memory of its people.
Al-Zaydi emphasized that the book represents a solid documentation effort that reflects the importance of Al-Masfalah and its status in Meccan history, considering it a qualitative addition to the Meccan library due to its precise documentation of a part of Mecca’s history and its highlighting of the rich civilizational, social, and human heritage that Al-Masfalah holds, appreciating the efforts made by the author Osama Al-Azaldin in preparing the book.
