منحت جامعة بكين للغات والثقافة في جمهورية الصين الشعبية الدكتور سالم بن محمد المالك، المدير العام لمنظمة العالم الإسلامي للتربية والعلوم والثقافة «إيسيسكو»، منصب أستاذ كرسي «ووتونغ»، الذي يُعد من أرفع المناصب الأكاديمية في الجامعة، تقديراً لمكانته العلمية ومسيرته القيادية وإسهاماته في تعزيز التعاون الدولي والتواصل الحضاري بين العالم الإسلامي والصين.
ويحمل منصب «أستاذ ووتونغ» رمزية أكاديمية بارزة، إذ تمنحه الجامعة لصفوة العلماء والأدباء والقيادات الدولية تقديراً لمنجزاتهم العلمية والفكرية وأدوارهم في خدمة المعرفة وتعزيز التقارب بين الشعوب، ولم يُمنح هذا المنصب منذ تأسيس الجامعة إلا لستة علماء.
ويأتي تكريم الدكتور المالك تقديراً لجهوده في قيادة «إيسيسكو» وتطوير برامجها ومبادراتها وتوسيع شراكاتها الدولية، وتعزيز حضورها في مجالات التربية والعلوم والثقافة، إلى جانب دوره في مد جسور التواصل وتبادل الخبرات بين العالم الإسلامي ومختلف دول العالم.
The Beijing Language and Culture University in the People’s Republic of China has granted Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, the Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the position of Wutong Chair, which is considered one of the highest academic positions at the university, in recognition of his scientific stature, leadership journey, and contributions to enhancing international cooperation and cultural communication between the Islamic world and China.
The title of “Wutong Professor” carries significant academic symbolism, as the university awards it to a select group of scholars, writers, and international leaders in recognition of their scientific and intellectual achievements and their roles in serving knowledge and promoting rapprochement between peoples. This title has only been awarded to six scholars since the university’s establishment.
Dr. Al-Malik’s recognition comes in appreciation of his efforts in leading ISESCO, developing its programs and initiatives, expanding its international partnerships, and enhancing its presence in the fields of education, science, and culture, alongside his role in building bridges of communication and exchanging experiences between the Islamic world and various countries around the globe.
