وجاء هذا التحديث الاستجابي من شركة «ميتا» ليضع حداً للمخاوف المتزايدة بشأن انتهاك الخصوصية الرقمية؛ حيث أتاحت المنصة ميزة «إلغاء الاشتراك» (Opt-out) التي تفرض على المستخدم التدخل يدوياً لحظر استغلال بياناته البصرية. وتكمن أهمية هذا التعديل في أن الحسابات العامة كانت تُدرج تلقائياً ضمن ميزة «Imagine Me»؛ وهي خاصية تتيح لمساعد الذكاء الاصطناعي (Meta AI) إعادة توليد وتركيب صور شخصية جديدة تماماً مستوحاة من ملامح وجه المستخدم بمجرد الإشارة إلى حسابه.
ولاستعادة السيطرة الكاملة وإيقاف هذا الدمج التلقائي، بات بإمكان أصحاب الحسابات العامة الدخول إلى ملفاتهم الشخصية، ثم التوجه إلى القائمة الرئيسية (الخطوط الثلاثة)، والانتقال إلى قسم «المشاركة وإعادة الاستخدام» لتعطيل خيارات «السماح للأشخاص بإنشاء محتوى وإعادة استخدام محتواك». طمأنت المنصة أصحاب الحسابات الخاصة وحسابات القاصرين بأنهم مستثنون من هذه الميزة تلقائياً، مؤكدة أن قرار التعطيل سيمنع أي استخدام مستقبلي للصور، بينما يمكن التخلص من الصور التي تم توليدها بالذكاء الاصطناعي سابقاً وحذفها نهائياً عبر خيار «Delete my AI photos» في إعدادات Meta AI.

This responsive update from “Meta” aims to address the growing fears regarding digital privacy violations; the platform has introduced an “Opt-out” feature that requires users to manually intervene to prevent the exploitation of their visual data. The significance of this amendment lies in the fact that public accounts were automatically included in the “Imagine Me” feature; a property that allows the AI assistant (Meta AI) to regenerate and create entirely new personal images inspired by the user’s facial features simply by referencing their account.
To regain full control and stop this automatic integration, public account owners can now access their profiles, then go to the main menu (the three lines), and navigate to the “Sharing and Reusing” section to disable the options “Allow people to create content and reuse your content.” The platform reassured private account holders and accounts of minors that they are automatically exempt from this feature, confirming that the opt-out decision will prevent any future use of the images, while previously generated AI images can be permanently deleted through the “Delete my AI photos” option in the Meta AI settings.
