The latest Purchasing Managers’ Index data released by Riyad Bank showed that the non-oil private sector in Saudi Arabia maintained its growth trajectory during September, recording its highest level in 7 months.

According to the data, demand growth recovered and approached its usual levels. Employment and purchasing activity recorded faster growth rates.

Increase in the Main Index

The main Purchasing Managers’ Index rose from 53.8 points in August to 55.3 points in September, indicating an improvement in business conditions in the non-oil economy for the sixth consecutive month. The pace of improvement was the strongest since February.

However, the acceleration was largely driven by a notable increase in new orders, which masked a simultaneous slowdown in production growth.

The new orders index sharply increased in September and was much closer to its long-term average; indicating that demand conditions have recovered well after slowing down in mid-2026.
