رحّب الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بالأرقام التي أظهرت، اليوم، نمواً في الوظائف أفضل من المتوقع في يناير الماضي، وأصر على رأيه بأن الولايات المتحدة يجب أن تدفع تكاليف اقتراض أقل بكثير.
وقال ترمب في منشور على موقع تروث سوشيال: «يجب أن تدفع الولايات المتحدة تكاليف أقل بكثير على قروضها (السندات)، ونحن مرة أخرى أقوى دولة في العالم، وبالتالي يجب أن ندفع أقل سعر فائدة على الإطلاق».
وبيّن قائلاً: «أرباب العمل في الولايات المتحدة أضافوا 130 ألف وظيفة خلال يناير الماضي، وهو رقم قوي بشكل مفاجئ، لكن مراجعات حكومية خفضت عدد الوظائف المستحدثة في العام الماضي بمئات الآلاف».
مراجعات كبيرة
وذكرت وزارة العمل الأمريكية، اليوم، أن معدل البطالة في أمريكا خلال يناير الماضي تراجع إلى 4.3%.
وتضمن التقرير مراجعات كبيرة، أسفرت عن خفض عدد الوظائف المستحدثة العام الماضي إلى 181 ألف وظيفة فقط، وهو أضعف مستوى منذ عام جائحة كورونا في 2020، وأقل من نصف الرقم الذي سبق الإعلان عنه والبالغ 584 ألف وظيفة.
وفي سياق متصل، ذكر «مكتب إحصاءات العمل»، التابع لوزارة العمل الأمريكية، اليوم، أن عدد الوظائف التي خلقها الاقتصاد الأمريكي في الـ12 شهراً حتى مارس 2025 كان أقل بـ862 ألف وظيفة مما أشارت إليه تقديرات سابقة.
U.S. President Donald Trump welcomed the numbers that showed, today, better-than-expected job growth in January, and insisted on his view that the United States should pay much lower borrowing costs.
Trump said in a post on Truth Social: “The United States should pay much lower costs on its loans (bonds), and we are once again the strongest country in the world, so we should pay the lowest interest rate ever.”
He pointed out: “Employers in the United States added 130,000 jobs during last January, which is a surprisingly strong number, but government revisions reduced the number of jobs created last year by hundreds of thousands.”
Significant Revisions
The U.S. Department of Labor reported today that the unemployment rate in America fell to 4.3% in January.
The report included significant revisions, which resulted in the number of jobs created last year being reduced to only 181,000 jobs, the weakest level since the COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020, and less than half of the previously announced figure of 584,000 jobs.
In a related context, the “Bureau of Labor Statistics,” part of the U.S. Department of Labor, reported today that the number of jobs created by the U.S. economy in the 12 months up to March 2025 was 862,000 jobs less than previously estimated.
