تخطط الحكومات الأوروبية لتسريع التحول إلى الطاقة النظيفة -الخضراء- لمواجهة صدمات أسعار الوقود الأحفوري، في ظل ارتفاع أسعار النفط والغاز الناجم عن حرب إيران، حسبما أكدت مسودة اتفاقية اطلعت عليها l l«بوليتيكو».
تهديد الأمن
وتنص المسودة، التي وافقت عليها اللجنة السياسية والأمنية لمجلس الاتحاد الأوروبي في 14 أبريل الجاري، والتي تتطلب الآن موافقة سفراء الاتحاد الأوروبي ووزراء خارجيته، على أن «الأعمال العدائية في إيران والمنطقة الأوسع تهدد الأمن والازدهار الإقليمي والعالمي».
تسريع التحول
ومن المتوقع أن يوقع وزراء خارجية الدول الأعضاء الـ27 في الاتحاد الأوروبي، الثلاثاء القادم، على مجموعة من الخلاصات التي تحدد توجهاً جديداً للاتحاد الأوروبي في مجال الطاقة والمناخ.
وفي ظل ارتفاع أسعار الوقود الأحفوري بسبب حرب إيران، تعكس مسودة الاتفاقية مخاوف بشأن استقلالية الاتحاد الأوروبي وأمنه. ويرى وزراء الخارجية في التكتل، أن الحل الأمثل يكمن في تسريع التحول إلى الطاقة النظيفة.
European governments are planning to accelerate the transition to clean -green- energy to address the shocks of fossil fuel prices, amid rising oil and gas prices resulting from the Iran war, according to a draft agreement obtained by l l “Politico”.
Security Threat
The draft, which was approved by the Political and Security Committee of the European Union Council on April 14, and now requires the approval of EU ambassadors and foreign ministers, states that “hostilities in Iran and the wider region threaten regional and global security and prosperity”.
Accelerating the Transition
EU foreign ministers from the 27 member states are expected to sign a set of conclusions next Tuesday that will outline a new direction for the EU in the fields of energy and climate.
In light of rising fossil fuel prices due to the Iran war, the draft agreement reflects concerns about the EU’s independence and security. The foreign ministers in the bloc believe that the optimal solution lies in accelerating the transition to clean energy.
